The Ruidoso Gun Club Range.

Located on Hale Lake Road, mile marker 266 on Hwy 70 north
just past Connelly's Nursery, about 1 mile outside Ruidoso Downs,
New Mexico.

Keys are managed by Fire Power Gun and Pawn.

Range Fees are $10.00 a day (a $35.00 deposit is required)

or

$35.00 per year.  Lock changed on 1 July of each year.

SASS 
(Single Action Shooters Society)

has use of the range the 2nd Saturday of each month.

The range is closed to all but SASS shooting.

 

        500 Meter Outdoor Range 

 

                5 shooting benches  (two covered)

                            500 Meter Range    5 Berms   one every 100 meters

                                          Steel target gongs  (2' X 2') square at 50 meters, 100 meters
                                                            and every 100 meters to 500 meters

                                          Steel target diamonds (1' X 1')  start at 100 meters and every                         
                                                             100 meters to 500 meters.

Range Rules

 

Rules must be observed at all times.

 

  1. No Alcohol!

  1. No smoking during periods of high danger and when posted.

   3.    All weapons will be treated as loaded, always.

                  Weapons will be pointed down range at all times

                  Do not point your gun at anything you do not intend to shoot.

                  Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.

                  Be sure of your target.

                  All shooting will be from the firing line, (covered and concrete)

    4.  Any shooter or person on the range may call a "CEASE FIRE" 

               All personnel will immediately stop shooting when a "CEASE FIRE" is called.

   5.      Only pistols on the pistol range  (exception is 22 Rim fire rifles)

         6.      Pick up your own Trash.  Everyone is responsible for a clean range.

         7.       No range equipment is to be used as a target (chairs, benches, etc.)

         8.      Hearing and eye protection must be worn by all shooters and spectators.

         9.      Each member is responsible for the range.  Your range key will be shown when asked by any other member.

         10.  Shooters under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

         11.  Family members may accompany a member of the range but do not invite more guests than you can keep track of.  (Usually no more than 3)

         12.  Before walking down range, make sure everyone knows what you are doing.  Upon returning to the line, shout CLEAR so they know the range is safe to shoot.

         13.  The range is open from Dawn until Dusk, no shooting on the range after dark..  The only exception is the Police during reserved night shooting events.

 

                                                                                                             Reserving the Range

 

1.     To reserve the range call John Penn at 505-257-6982 or 505-937-2054.

    2.     Reservations must be made 14 days prior to the event.  It is the user’s responsibility to post three notices of reservation.  One on the gate, one on the range house and one at
             Fire Power Gun and Pawn.

    3.     Any member may reserve the range.  A fee of $10.00 is required for each non-member using the range during the reservation.

    4.     Police Reservations are restricted to Tuesday through Thursday and the police are the only authorized night users for the range.

    5.     Youth groups will have one adult to every three minors on the range.

    6.     Adult groups will have one safety person for every five persons on the range.  The club can provide safety personnel upon request.
